I have a SU2200RMXLNET that has been out of service for a while and would like to place it back in temporary operation during a new office setup. Batteries are not a problem, but I am missing the disconnect at the rear of the unit. So far, the APC on-line chat has referred me to 800-555-2725. That number rings, but is never answered, so I am asking here.
I need a part number, so that I may order the correct part. This is an older model, and I have not been able to find a manual on the web.
Anyone have a parts manual?
Thanks,
Bob G

Mr N & Angela,
Thanks for your research. I'm looking at parts catalogs for the appropriate connector.
I have found the loop is available in Australia. I'm trying to avoid buying from there due to shipping costs and delayed delivery.

Well I say it won't be purchaseable through APC because we do not sell individual parts for Smart-UPS. The UPS itself has also been discontinued.

Thanks, that's good to know. I knew it was an older UPS, but have never had to buy repair parts. They generally just don't fail.

i discovered that the part # we provided you in the prior post was for the 3U model of this UPS. your UPS is 5U it looks like so that is why it looks a bit different.
the part for the "loop" is 870-7017 and 870-7516B is the blank plate that is supposed to cover the hole.

Bob,
What disconnect? The only disconnects on the rear of Smart-UPS were quick disconnects and they were installed on smaller VA UPS's (usually 1500's), specifically newer generations.
You shouldn't need anything other than a sufficient set of batteries to power the UPS on if in fact the UPS is still functional.
The top rear right hand corner of the UPS is a battery connector for External Batteries to be attached to the UPS. Whether those batteries are connected or not, again, will not have an overall effect on the UPS's operation.

i came across this issue about a month ago. on these older units, this piece actually closes a circuit or something and prevents the UPS from being used at all. it is the external battery pack cover. on the other side of it (which you can't see in the picture), there are metal connectors that make a connection inside.
bob, please refer to the picture i attached and please let me know if this is what you are looking for.

Mr. Notorious (if that is your real name),
According to the warning plate and every other APC UPS that I've ever installed, the disconnect is just that and without it installed, the batteries are not in circuit. I'm attaching pictures so you can see what I've read. Pics are soft because they were shot with a cell phone, but the gist is there. This is just a wire loop to isolate the batteries during shipping.
If I'm wrong, this won't be the first time, but I do believe I'm right.
Thanks,
Bob G

Bob,
I figured out where the confusion lies. A disconnect is the black rubber piece that is on the rear of the new Smart-UPS. This is the XLBP disconnect what would now normally be replaced with a terminator. I would have assumed had you used the word terminator then I would've understood right away. So it was a mere verbiage problem and that created (most likely) undesired confusion.
The APC part number for that piece is 726-0100. However, I don't think it's purchaseable through APC.

Hi there,
It's kinda the same, but different. It's a wire loop with an industrial battery connector. Similar to the battery connector used in electric pallet jacks.

The part number helps, thanks. If not APC, I'll have one made. It's a standard battery connector. I just need the loop made. Kinda odd that you feel it would not be obtained through APC though.
