Hi all
The LED display on the font of my SMT2200i seems to have gone...
Pic: http://oi68.tinypic.com/rh0jro.jpg
Its just displaying a bunch of garbage. The UPS unit is operating as normal.. only the display is gone..
Any ideas what may have caused this and how to resolve the issue?
Thanks in advance. Any help appreciated.

Hi Donald,
I don't think it would be a surge that caused this as I would expect some other issues along with the display problem.
As Mark has said, if power cycling does not work I would think it would be the ribbon cable or one of the components internal to the UPS that is having an issue that are, unfortunately, not replaceable. You can control and monitor the ups with a management card or with our free software, Powerchute business edition, by connecting it to a server.
If you can get me the serial number I can see if the unit is still under warranty as well.

Hi Donald,
Have you tried to power cycle the unit to restart that display? It seems like it is still getting power it is just not displaying the information correctly so it might just need a reboot.
If that doesn't work check the ribbon cable that connects to the display for any damage.

Ok Mike thanks. I have tried rebooting power cycling etc... Will check the ribbon cable over the weekend cant see how it could have been damaged though as the UPS hasnt been moved or opened at all? Will give it a shot tho...
Could it have been a surge that has done this?

Had similar experience with a SMX3000 with a bad LCD screen. I was able to take full control of the unit using the network card via a computer so that it was usable. Have not been able to repair as it appears to be an issue with one of the proprietary processors. Good luck.
