AP5406 screen resolution issues with 640x320

I'm having some issues with my new KVM solution. The AP5017 with the 17" screen is giving me some difficulties drawing OpenVMS and Novell Netware console screen which use a low resolution. The screen fits the width fairly well, but the height of the screen is wrong. Missing is about the bottom 1/3 of the console screen. I can't shrink the vertical alignment either. I believe that the proper screen resolution is VGA (640x480) but the AP5017 is detecting it at 640x320.

Are there any hacks to make this monitor a better match for lower resolutions?

Hello,

Does this behaviour occur while attaching a normal monitor?

Does this only happen in console/command line screens? Can you try dropping a OS environment (like windows) down to 640x480 to see if it displays properly?

Has this ever worked? What is the serial number on the unit?

The more info the better ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok, I really gave it a serious look at today and even found a work around!

Workaround: Reboot the IP-KVM, reconnect to the server.

Note: This will fix the display for one server. If you have multiple servers under-drawing on the IP-KVM, you will need to reboot the IP-KVM and reconnect for each server. The previous servers will keep their resolution. Do not press the auto adjust button.

Environment notes: I have a 16-port IP KVM with other 16-port IP-KVM's daisy chained from the master IP-KVM/KMM.

Testing: I did try the other monitor Cap1, and learned that the screen resolution is in fact 720x400 at 31.3 KHz / 69.9 Hz. The monitor had no troubles displaying the screen correctly. I tired Windows as well, and dropped to 640x480, but had no problems with the screen. I tried the console screen on the NetWare server and a few servers worked, and a few servers did not work. Checking with the external monitor they had the resolution mentioned above, but for some odd reason the IP-KVM wouldn't match the resolution correctly on a few. I rebooted the IP-KVM and reconnected to that last server. The IP-KVM then reset the resolution and displayed the screen correctly, but only for this one server. If I pressed the auto-adjust button the IP-KVM would go back to the problem resolution. I think this is what might be causing my situation.

When screen size mismatch occurs on lower resolution output (I.E. 720 x 400, such as text based console systems), reboot ip KVM then reconnect to the previous server.

Does the issue exist if you connect the KMM directly to the server or only when going through the KVM.

That will help us isolate the issue.

I've connected the KMM directly to the back of one of the servers and the screen issue is the same, the KMM erroneously displays the server's console screen as elongated in the vertical direction with a portion of the bottom of the screen missing.
