Yes, you must be on the same subnet but are you sure these devices have not gotten a DHCP address already and are "configured?" Depending on the device models, some default to DHCP only with option 43 cookie enabled (which typically most customers don't configure and it prevents the device from configuring it) and others come DHCP only with cookie disabled so devices accept addresses right away.
The wizard looks for unconfigured cards and configured cards - did you try both options? Have you tried from a different computer? Ports being blocked could also be an issue but are you saying the Cisco device is found via the wizard?
