Hello,
im using a small server attached to a APC Back-UPS ES 700 via USB cable. On the Hyper-V is running a VM with Server 2003 and a VM with Windows 8. I want to aks now which software i can use to administrate the UPS-device and shut down the Hyper-V with the VMs. There is no PowerChute Personal for Hyper-V and also i cannot install the PowerChute Personal on the Server 2003 in the VM because the Hyper-V didnt forward the local USB-ports to a VM.
Is there any way to use the Back-UPS with Hyper-V as it should?
Thank you

Set Hyper-v to shutdown the VM. That way when the host is shutdown it shuts down the VMs before the physical server shuts down.
If you are using core install, you have to use network card and use Powerchute network shutdown.

Unfortunately we do not have any software available to shutdown the Hyper V setup using our BackUPS product line. You might want to look at our other products such as SmartUPS with PCBE or PCNS.
