Hi,
Our company recently bought around 200 piece of AP9630 network Management card 2. I do not know how to enable its DHCP function by command line. I would like to let the card automatically obtain an ip address from dhcp server but without changing/configure the DHCP server (option 43).
Thanks a lot for help!

hello again.
tcpip only shows manual settings. netstat shows active settings. since DHCP is an automatic method of assigning IPs, tcpip is blank. (in v6.0.6 and higher, we will be making it so that tcpip shows both active and manual settings to avoid confusion. netstat will still work).
DHCP option 43 is not required. some users like it. it helps identify the device as an APC device after you set it to a certain value. most users don't use it.
i'd suggest maybe reviewing this guide: http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/PMAR-8P9G2C/PMAR-8P9G2C_R2_EN.pdf
it goes over all of the CLI commands. the user command provides functionality for changing usernames and passwords. as you navigate the interface, you can type a ? after a command for help. so if you need help using the user command, type user ?
you don't need to do any further configuration for the card to get a DHCP address as that is what it will do by default.

hello mybox65
DHCP option 43 cookie is disabled by default on AP9630/31/35 v5.1.X and higher firmware. DHCP only with no cookie required is the default boot mode. Do you know what firmware is on your card? You can find this easily when you log in via command line on the top right of the screen. In this newer firmware, you can turn it on if you'd like.
If your firmware is v5.0.X and several years old now, then you'd use the boot command if you want to disable the cookie since we used to ship the NMCs with the cookie enabled by default in v5.0.X. The default bootmode was DHCP/BOOTP with cookie enabled.
The boot command has many options and boot -c
Hope that helps.

The firmware version is V5.1.7 . Once I type command "tcpip", I see there are no any ip address. However once I type command "netstat", I see the card already got an ip address from DHCP server.
My question , Do I need do any extra configuration after I installing the card to UPS, if I just want the card automatically get an ip address from DHCP Server ? What is the DHCP option 43 for ? How do I change the password by command line ?
Thank you very much for your kindly assistance
