How to configure PCNS to shutdown the Server with PF Sense 2.1.5

Dear All,

Greetings.

We would like to seek your help and advice on how to shutdown a Server running PF Sense 2.1.5

Any step by step information could share with us on how to setup and configure the PCNS to shutdown the server in the event of power failure.

We have attached the picture of the OS PF Sense 2.1.5 below for your reference. Your help and advice are much appreciated.

Hi,

PowerChute Network Shutdown has not been tested on FreeBSD. You can try it but I cannot say whether it will work and it is not an official support OS. I recommend installing APCUPSD and configure it instead of using PowerChute. The APCUPSD web site list compatibility with FreeBSD and the users guide explains how to set it up under the heading of PCNET. Another option is to install PowerChute on a secondary system that is monitoring the NMC and script it to remotely shut down the FreeBSD system.

Hi,

We have Kbase FA168226 that discusses command files and PowerChute Business Edition.

As for examples you should be able to find a few on the web via Google, Bing, Yahoo and such.
