APC batteries that are four years old in storage, how usable could they be? Can testing them in prove anything?
Batteries are different sizes of LeadAcid maintenance free suspended Electrolyte type made by APC.

Hi Customer,
Can I refer you to FAQ FA158934
http://www.apc.com/uk/en/faqs/index?page=content&id=FA158934
If you refer to apc.com, Support > Resources & tools > FAQ’s
http://www.apc.com/uk/en/faqs/home/
If you search “battery storage” you will find multiple documents referring to this subject.
I would say batteries that have been in storage for extended time without charging would have a detrimental affect.
Using the FAQ tool you may find help on your specific battery. Also you may find FAQ FA157496 useful.
Kindest Regards,
Richard, Advanced Technical Support.
