We just bought a couple of Smart-UPS's, 750's. We also bought the AP9630 network cards.
I have it up and running after some struggles, (its easy when you know how I didn't). Anyway one working and emailing on a test machine computer.
However I can't see how to configure it so that I have one server shutdown first then another. I wanted to put the PDC and the Exchange server on one UPS.
I want the Exchange server to shutdown first and give it 15 Minutes or so to shutdown then the PDC. I cant see any way to make them different. IT seems that the shutdown settings on the card are going to shut everything down. How can I separate the shutdowns.
Am I missing something ?
thanks.

Well Im testing this actually right now on a xp machine. I downloaded the windows2003 / XP 32 bit PowerChute Network Shutdown software for the onto the computer and installed it. It is important to note that this is NOT the software that comes with the UPS but with the card, and actually I downloaded it from there site.
So your saying that I should enter the software from the computer. And on that computer I can configure the proper shutdown procedure?
Is that in the configure events?
Thanks.

Hi,
Depending on the OS of each system you can install PowerChute Network Shutdown and configure the software to power down the OS's at different times. You can find documentation and the OS compatibility chart for PowerChute at PowerChute Network Shutdown – Network Power Management Software | APC
