I have a collection of UPSes either backing up servers/workstations and a few providing backup powder for some aquariums. I gather each UPS I monitor needs some kind of Service/Agent running on a PC to poll the UPS? But APCUPSD won't allow multiple instances in Windows. It does allow multiple APCTrays, but they expect to monitor the APCUPSD Service and not the UPS from what I can see. I guess I could run multiple instances of the APCUPSD Service in Linux (Yuck) and then use the APCTray in Windows to monitor these Linux instances on different ports I assume.
Any help or bright ideas appreciated.

Bill,
Do all of the UPS have network cards? If so then you can monitor all of the UPS using StruXureware. To my knowledge APCUPSD does not offer a single point GUI for multiple instances but I suggest you post this question to the APCUPSD forum. Someone there may know of a method.
Another option if the UPS have network cards is to monitor them using SNMP. You could write a script that would poll the network cards for info and write that info to a text file or GUI.

APC's solution for SmartUPSes is to put a network management card in the UPS and then use the free PowerChute Network Shutdown client on each Windows instance. That's roughly comparable to your solution: the network management card and your linux box running APCUPSd play similar roles.

Hi! Networkers,
on my windoiws 10 station, I install apctray (only that application, not the rest of apcupsd package)
to monitor 2 remote servers (192.168.1.100:3551 and 192.168.1.101:3551)
and configure it to start automatically at startup.
when it start, it show me only one instance monitoring 127.0.0.1:3551
I have to manually click on the icon and add a second instance and configure them with my IP values and it work correctly.
How can I configure my system so it start automatically the two instances ?
Thanks for your help
PS: I already wrote on apcupsd forum but didn't receive any reply.
