I have APC UPS and I use powerchute software (personal edition 2.0) on my PC (Win XP, Professional). I would like to put PC into hibernation when power fails. Is it possible with powerchute software? Also I would like to wake up my PC from hibernation after power is restored. I have several programs running 24 hours a day and this solution would be great.
Thanks

Yes, APC Power Chute Personal Edition software can shutdown your Computer gracefully or hibernate in the event of power failure.
However, restarting a machine is controlled by the BIOS of the computer, not our unit or our software. The APC Management software will do the shutdown in the event of extended power failure. If you want to restart your computer when power is restored, then that is a setting on the computer itself. In this situation, Please contact your computer or BIOS manufacturer to find out if it is possible to change this BIOS setting on your particular computer and for exact instructions on how to do so.
And also you can refer the following K-base documents.

I hope that this helps.
