Hello,
I purchased a number of AP8653 PDU's and they came without being factory reset, so I performed this on all of them. One of them, while seemed to go OK, now is stuck with a blank screen (LCD) and while I can access it via serial cable, is not powering on the ports and if I try to access it via web, its says that the 'application was not able to load'. So it seems slightly bricked.
I want to now try to update the firmware either to the same version or an update (which I should really do on all of them).
The Schneider site is so complicated that I cannot either find a reliable guide, nor the firmware I should use. I have seen this related post https://community.se.com/t5/APC-UPS-Data-Center-Enterprise/AP8653-firmware-update/m-p/481127#M53711 but I do not even know how to determine the NMC?!
The PDU is an AP8563 and, when I connect via serial am told the following :
Network Management Card AOS v6.5.6
And then in "about" :
Model : AP8653
Network Management Card : AP9538
APC OS : v6.5.6
Boot Monitor : v1.0.8
So my questions are :
- What should I try and update it with?
- Where do I get those files?
Thanks in advance!

Further to this, I am trying to use the files available apc_hw05_aos712_rpdu2g714_bootmon109.exe but this isn't working as I get an error 'Firmware distribution does not match target device platform'.
I think I need an earlier version, but these are not available anymore. I read that I could request these, cannot find where to do this.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Based on the above information you may have NMC 2 vs NMC 3. The production date would help narrow it down along with taking the NMC out from the PDU to confirm.
Regardless, you’ll will need to submit a service request to obtain the last (NMC 2) firmware release for your specific model PDU as the hardware has been updated with a NMC 3 and that is the only one available for public download.
Let me know what they determine is inside your unit and do share the NMC 2 firmware if applicable.
As I’m sure it will help the next person asking the same.
