Smart-UPS 5000 (SUA5000RMT5U) 5 Green leds still blinking after Battery Replacement

Hello,

I've just replaced the 4 Batteries on my Smart-UPS 5000 (SUA5000RMT5U) yesterday.

Today, after 18 hours of charging, the 5 green leds are still blinking.

I did a Self-Test this morning and it passed but I still have a Critical Alarm: Discharged Battery
I also have this message in the logs: UPS: The battery power is too low to support the load; if power fails, the UPS will be shut down immediately.

But, the UPS Status is:
Load in Watts: 26%
Battery Capacity: 100%
Runtime Remaining: 3min

My questions are:
5 Green blinking leds means that UPS Batteries are not fully charged ?
If so, should I have to wait longer for Batteries to be fully charged ?
If Batteries are not fully charged, why Battery Capacity shows 100% ?
Should I have something else to do after Batteries Replacement ?

Thanks in advance for your help
Tim

OK. It finally works.

I did a Runtime Calibration that I stopped after 5 min.

Then the Battery Capacity change to 0%

Now it's charging. The Battery Capacity is at 50% after 2 hours.

I think you have to do a Battery Calibration after changing them.

Otherwise the UPS is not aware that Batteries has been changed and it is still calibrated on old low Batteries Voltage. So it said that it is at 100% and was not charging them.

The Battery Calibration has reset this value and now the UPS is charging the Batteries.

Thanks for your help

You’ll need to wait for the battery cartridge to fully charge for 72 hours. Once the battery is 100% SOC. Verify the same with a multimeter and report back the surface voltage.

You must remove and let sit outside of the unit and record the battery voltage at the time of removal and 24-72 hours later.

Report the measurements here.

Afterwards reinstall the battery cartridge and update the battery installation date. Follow up with manually initiating a Self Test.

Once complete let the battery cartridge return to 100% SOC (State of Charge). Finalize by manually initiating a Battery Calibration with at least 30% attached load.

Let the system complete this procedure and recharge back up. The battery indicator should be more accurate and in time will display 100% charge.

The load LED’s should also stop flashing after this procedure has been completed.

NOTE: If the above steps do not resolve the issue you may try the Brain Dead procedure as out lined here:
