I upgraded to the latest PowerChute software on a Win7 install, and the install has the root of my user folder filled with DLL files.
This is ridiculous.
APC, please fix your installer so that it doesn't spread nonsense all over my harddrive. These files are not supposed to be here, you have a proper folder where I specified your software to be installed to.

hi,
we will look into this but yes, these are put there even before you actually start the install technically. i will pass it along to the development team to see if we can change this behavior so that the DLLs do not go into the user folder.

Any update on this?
Are these files that the install uses, or are they used also after the install (and therefore unsafe to delete)?

yes, the files are just used for install and you can safely delete them. currently, i just know that it has been logged and will be fixed in the next revision. i don't currently know a date unfortunately.
