I am on Windows 10 pro and have SMC1500i.
I have upgraded Powerchute into v9.5
How can I let Powerchute hibernate instead of Shutdown?
I hoped that this update will give me a way to do this, but it seems none of the settings allow me to choose that.
In previous versions, we could go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\APC\PowerChute Business Edition\agent\bin"
and when renamed the hibernate.exe into shutdown.exe
It worked
But then the email was limited to basic authentication.
From where in Powerchute 9.5 the shutdown command is executed? Maybe I could modify it somehow
This was something taken for granted in Powerchute personal edition. Why this feature is missing in the more expensive UPS systems ?
If there is no hope for any work around , how about this idea:
Install the v9.5 and make shutdown setting to not shutdown (Use this version for the email feature)
Install the v9.0 console beside the v9.5 to use its hibernate feature (set it to shutdown and rename the hibernate.exe into shutdown.exe in the path mentioned above).
Is it possible somehow to use both these versions on the same pc?

However, I have tested Windows 10 home edition by changing hibernate.exe to shutdown.exe in the bin folder and the system did hibernate. I stopped the apcpbeagent service, enable hibernate, renamed the files and restarted the service.
Great!
That worked for me too on Windows 10 pro 64
Many thanks

Hi,
Sorry but PowerChute Business Edition 9.5 Agent does not support hibernation and is not compatible with the 9.X server - console.
However, I have tested Windows 10 home edition by changing hibernate.exe to shutdown.exe in the bin folder and the system did hibernate. I stopped the apcpbeagent service, enable hibernate, renamed the files and restarted the service.
Please remember that changing the files is not a supported configuration by Schneider Electric.

No, you cannot run two versions of PowerChute on the same system.

PowerChute Personal Edition is designed for personal computers. PowerChute Business Edition is designed for enterprise level systems. Most servers do not required hibernation since all application would be closed prior to the system powering down.
