Hello,
I've installed PowerChute Network Shutdown on my Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-v servers. PowerChute is configured to run a batch file if the UPS is on battery for a certain amount of time. This batch file is just a simple script to run PowerShell (as Administrator) and put all running VMs into a saved state. PowerChute is then configured to shutdown the Hyper-V server after a certain time.
When I run this batch file manually by double clicking it, it prompts me to confirm that I want to run it. If I right click it and choose to 'Run as administrator' there is no prompt for action. I therefore need to be sure that PowerChute will run this batch file with elevated privileges - otherwise I'm concerned that it will just be sitting waiting for a response and won't actually run and put my VMs into a saved state.
I don't want to simulate a power failure to test this, therefore I'm hoping that someone can confirm whether or not PowerChute runs a command file as an elevated user?

Hi,
The information will be found by opening the systems control panel and go to Administrative tool- Services. Then right click on PCNS1 - Properties - Log On.

Hi,
PowerChute Network Shutdown runs scripts as an Admin. If for some reason you needed to you can change the user in the Windows PCNS Service. Click on Log On, select this account and you can change the user.

Hello Bill
I am trying to run remote shutdown script to shut down my other server remotely but script worked on my cmd terminal but not with powerchute.
I was trying to find the logon option you mentioned but couldnt locate it anywhere from the web interface or the installed folder, could you help advise how to access to the logon option to change the privileges?
