Hi everyone, I have a SmartUPS-3000 with the environmental temperature / humidity external sensor plugged into it.
My UPS Network Management Card 2 is emailing me two Informational status messages, related to the sensor:
Informational Events - UPS: Restored the local network management interface-to-UPS communication.
..and:
Informational Events - Environment: Restored the local network management interface-to-integrated Environmental Monitor (Universal I/O at Port 1) communication.
I can't figure out how to disable these informational level events from emailing me. It's almost like the sensor's email / notification settings are on some separate area that I can't seem to find. Going into Administration / Nofitication doesn't bring up any area which describes this event, so there's no "checkbox to disable" this event from emailing me.
I've configured the UPS email notification is set to email many high level people in my organization when there's a major issue, such as power failure or critical battery failure. I don't want to spam them with this Informational level event and I can't seem to figure out how to disable it.
Any ideas?

You're very welcome. The other one that comes to mind most people ask for is UPS: Self Test Passed which is the clearing event for UPS: Self Test Failed under Power Events->Diagnostics. This one I would watch out with though since typically, the self test passes, then the batteries fail and so does the self test, you replace them and then the self test should pass and you may never see the notification.
Regardless, you may need to just do a quick once over on all of the events, especially in the "communication" categories but beyond that, maybe just check the System events to see what you don't want? Most of those are just informational I think though which you said you already disabled.

Do you want to disable just all informational events? (As I type this, those are only "restored" communication and are information clearing events for potentially critical situations. If there are only a handful of these, refer to my knowledge base article here-> Configuring clearing events with APC Network Management Cards | FAQs | Schneider Electric US)
If you also wanted to disable all other informational events, go to Administration->Notification->By Group->(select informational checkbox only under By Severity), press next, select Email Recipients, press next, Select those which you'd like to disable it for, Press Next, and then on the next screen, find the radio button that says Disable notifications and hit apply a few times to do it and confirm you'd like to do it.
If you want to do it for these specific events only (where you don't want the critical and it's accompanied informational event), go to Administration->Notification->By Event->Environmental events (just click on the heading) and you can also pick and choose what events (or other categories too) you'd like to disable and as far as I know, it should disable that clearing event associated as well.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. What I'm trying to say is that All Information Events are already disabled for email notifications.
However, Informational Events related to the external sensor are still being sent. It's like the external sensor has it's own panel of notification for Informational Events (and presumably, Warning and Critical) - and I can't configure that panel.
If I go into the full listing of All Events (the big matrix that shows the checkboxes for which event is tagged for Email, Logging, etc), I should see every single event listed there and should be able to see if any even is set to Email, Logging, etc. However, "Informational Events - UPS: Restored the local network management interface-to-UPS communication." and "Informational Events - Environment: Restored the local network management interface-to-integrated Environmental Monitor (Universal I/O at Port 1) communication." is not listed anywhere on that big list. Thats why I'm thinking it has to be configured.. somewhere else?
Here's the entire listing of my Environment Events Notifications panel. Note that the above "Environment: Restored the local network management interface-to-integrated Environmental Monitor (Universal I/O at Port 1) communication." is not listed anywhere, as a matter of fact only 1 item is listed in the "Environment" Informational list at the very bottom (and even that is set to Event Log only).
I am going to remove the HTML below mainly because its showing weird and plus, I see this screen (Administration->Notification->By Event->Environmental) in my sleep - Angela N.

Did you refer to the PDF in that knowledge base article I referred to? You'll need the event codes for those two events and then enter them in the URL address bar to manually unconfigure them because they are special "clearing" events. Because if you encounter the condition that initiates them, as explained in the knowledge base, disabling these will cause you to maybe forget or not realize they have cleared (if you disable the notification).
What you're doing makes sense if certain people will receive both the lost comm/restored comm events and understand the situation.
Regardless, use that PDF I provided in the knowledge base and you'll want to edit event codes 0x0101 and 0x0344 and navigate per the instructions to disable those events manually.
See below. Just uncheck the box to disable for recipients you don't want getting this event.

Aha, that was precisely it. I didn't see the PDF attachment at the bottom of the page you linked, so I was a bit in the dark as to how to grab those events. Are you aware of any other "hidden" type event codes like the two above that I should look out for, instead of waiting for an email to be created sometime in the future?
Thanks so much!
