Powerchute Conflicted with Firebird Server

Hi Everyone,

Please help to solve my problem, i bought APC SC1000i but cannot use its smart features from powerchute. frown

This is the condition :

- I connect APC1000i to my rack server with serial port to usb cable.

- I'm using administration software that use Firebird server on Windows 8 Pro.

- When installed powerchute business edition provided in CD (client, & server), my local and internet network cannot connect to database

- Firebird server also not working after powerchute installation.

- Firebird server using port 3052 and 3051

- Uninstalled Powerchute, and they worked again.

I have read from internet, that powerchute also using port 3052, so i think there is conflicts here, but i dont know exactly.

So please help me out, is there any solution to change the port of powerchute? or maybe this is not related to port conflict ? Or any other 3rd party software ?

Many thanks before.

Hi,

The SC is a serial comm UPS and Windows Power Options since the release of Vista only work with USB comm. Windows XP and Server 2003 offer serial comm power options.

You cannot change the PowerChute port. You should use a Back-UPS like a BR1000 or SMT1000 that offers USB comm. Then you can use native power options to monitor the UPS battery and to power down, hibernate, sleep the OS. Power options can be found in the control panel.
