I soldered an cable to communicate with my UPS from PC.
However, i didn't shielded the connections, so they were open.
I then accidentally bumped to the RS232 connector, and it shorted. I saw a small spark, and the UPS 'died'.
I powercycled the device, but nothing happened.
I also removed the battery, connected a light bulb to the battery wires so the capacitors inside the UPS would discharge, and re-connected the battery again (i then saw a big spark, but this is normal, because the capacitors are charged by the battery).
But the UPS still doesn't function.
No lights, no buzzing transformators, no fan running, also no power on the outputs.
Help me!!
Is the PC communications port protected by a fuse (or maybe more fuses ?)

If you got it to work then the more power to ya!!
I can't really make any recommendations as this is unsupported and voids the warranty.
Good luck!

Alright, opened up the device, and looked for fuses.
Found a little black one (looked like a diode), tested it by bridging it with a working fuse, and the UPS works again.
Thanks to myself i guess haha
