Dead SURT8000XLT?

Hi, we had a brown out the other day and one of our SURT8000XLT died. When we try to turn it on, it only emits a short beep, the right fan starts turning (left one stays stopped), the FAULT light turns ON and the batterie light 2 and 3 (1 being the bottom one and is OFF) are ON. Anybody knows if its some kind of a diagnostic code (hopefully it only means my left fan is dead)? Thanks,E

yes, if you are starting from the bottom with the bottom one being "1" , if two and three are on, this does indicate a fan fault. generally these are not servicable by the user though so don't shoot the messenger. if the UPS is in warranty though, tech support can go through options with you which may be a full unit replacement. before that though, you may want to see if anything got stuck in the fan or if you use compressed air to try and clean it.

Ouch, so a simple fan failure in a UPS is enough to prevent it from turning on?!? That ain't reassuring... They should have at least put two fans back to back like they do in other systems.

The UPS is 4.5 years old so I doubt it is still under warranty. The fan is completely seized up. I can't even turn it by hand.
