The maximum distance of the passive USB cable depends upon the quality, shielding, and wire gauge (AWG) in use.
Generally speaking a passive USB 2 cable is 16 feet. You can extend the distance using an active (Powered USB Hub) which can span more than 30 feet.
Again, I stress the quality of cable, shielding, and wire diameters (AWG Size). There are also powered media converters which allow you to use shielded Ethernet cable for USB.
Using the above hardware will allow you to span 328 feet (100 meters) in the most ideal application YMMV! 👍
