Hi,
We have an old DLA3000RM2U which was purchased in 2004, I replaced batteries recently, "Replace battery" light is off now, but "Battery charge" lights flashing simultaneously. Battery condition shows Good, but the runtime shows only 1 minutes remaining ( on windows server control panel). Do I need replace UPS itself or some other thing I can try? Will battery calibration help and how to do this? never did this before.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Allan

I will keep an eye on it and see what happens during the next power outage.
Thank you so much for your help.

Here is a good start
Why are the battery charge LEDs flashing on a Smart-UPS? | FAQs | Schneider Electric US
Do you have PowerChute or a Network Management Card installed? Option 1 could be checked through one of those tools if you recently changed that setting. If not, it might not be a factor. For option 2, this would be if you recently increased the load which brought down the runtime or it could be that and what option 3 talks about.
How much runtime do you usually get? Since you've replaced the batteries, have you confirmed during an outage it provided more than 1 minute?
The most common cause/solution for this is usually option 3 but please read through and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Angela for your reply. I have PoweChute installed.it shows:
Device Status: Battery discharged
UPS Load: 37.0%
Runtime Remaining: 1 Minutes
I don't know how much runtime usualy get as I'm new here and I haven't confirmed if it will provide more than 1 minutes during an outage.
I did a Seif-test and passed. Runtime calibration currently unavailable, but it was there before I run self-test. How can I calibrate batteries then?
Thx.

I logoff and log back, Runtime Calibration show up now. Since the runtime is only 1 minute, if I do runtime calibrfation, will this cause connected devices down?
Thanks.

Hello again
If you issue a calibration through the software, no, the UPS intention is to go on battery and discharge to between 10 and 20% charge and then charge back up.
I would not be surprised since the reported runtime is so low that it aborts a calibration because of the particular predicament and it is not smart enough to realize that because it has virtually no runtime. If it was a little higher like 2-3 minutes, it might have time to re-calculate before aborting (assuming you get the real runtime you should - which I am sure is at least 15-20 minutes minimum).
If it does abort, our next best bet is to do the manual runtime calibration outlined in that article.
For best results no matter how the calibration gets done, make sure to meet the requirement with 30% load, which you do, and then make sure it does not fluctuate as noted in the article too.

Hi,
I did a Runtime Calibration through PowerChute, after that, Device Status shows On line and Runtime Remaining changed to 9 minutes, but the Runtime Calibration Result shows Unknown, and Runtime Calibration Date shows Value Not Found. Is this OK now?
Thank you.

I can't explain why the fields didn't update but 9 minutes still seems a bit low. I cannot get the runtime for this discontinued unit without jumping through 19 hoops since it is not on the website but my gut and extra checking tells me it ideally should report more like 18-20 minutes.
When you did the calibration, can you tell how long it actually ran on battery for?
Lastly, the runtime reported is an estimate and when the unit goes to battery operation it constantly updates and recalculates this. A runtime calibration should do that but I'd also be curious to find out and understand if it is reporting 9 minutes but lasting more like 18-20 minutes. So, we also might just need to wait for a battery discharge to see if it more accurately reflects the runtime rather than doing a bunch of calibrations and decreasing battery lifetime.
In summary, I am sure its fine and I'd keep an eye on it and during the next power outage, make a note to check the runtime reported and ensure it lasts closer to 18-20 minutes.
