Afternoon,
We have several of the VA3000 towers on transmitter calibration stations within our facility. Is there a method or command list somewhere the would allow my software to poll the UPS system to discover the mode of operation and the status of the device?
Any help would be appreciated..

Hi,
There is an Application Note #178 http://www.apc.com/salestools/MPAO-99NQF6/MPAO-99NQF6_R1_EN.pdf that explains the USB implementation with Smart-UPS.

Model Number SMT2200
Serial Number AS1521224409
Got these off the test report taped to the UPS system. Where the unit is located makes it difficult to read anything on the device while still in service

Hi Leon - Are you looking to connect to the UPS via USB/Serial or do you have a Network management Card installed in the unit?

Because each device is independent to a particular calibration station, the interface will be through the USB/Serial. The reason we would like to merge this into our calibration software has to do with safety more than anything else. When the AC line goes down we need to start a shut down process. Part of this process is the controlled release of the pressurized nitrogen that could be in the system. The UPS system is used to keep the entire system active long enough for that to occur.
Thanks

Afternoon Liam,
Is there not a way to interface to the UPS systems? I see you did not respond to my last note. I take that to mean that I am on my own to determine status of the device.
