I just got an old used SMT-1500 ups from a buddy, and it sees to be working well, but I'm trying to install the PowerChute software to have my PC (Win10) hibernate if the power fails (which it does sometimes out here), and it's giving me the error:
"The installer is unable to locate the battery backup connected to your computer. In order to disable native power management, an American Power conversion batter backup needs to be attached."
Looking in my device manager, I see it's detected with no driver issues (connected by USB):
Any suggestions? I'm pulling my hair here. Thanks!

Hello,
PowerChute Personal Edition is not compatible with a SMT Smart-UPS and therefore the software will not discover the UPS. The proper PowerChute for a SMT Smart-UPS is PowerChute Business Edition.
the latest version of PowerChute Business Edition can be downloaded at this link.
