Can't Connect to SRT2200RMXLA Via Web Console or SSH

As the subject indicates, I can't connect to the UPS.  I have read multiple articles and setup the IP, subnet mask, and default gateway manually for the NMC2 card using the onboard display.  I get no response to the IP address when using http or https via Chrome and SSH attempts respond with "Unable to negotiate with xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 22: no matching cipherfound.".  However I can ping the address and when disconnecting the ethernet cable it no longer responds.  I can also see the device using SuperScan.  From what I've read the next step is to connect using a local serial connection, but this as a hassle as it requires a USB to RJ45 adapter which isn't readily available.  Am I missing something?

Given the limited information provided and not knowing some of the history or the facts of the entire system and network.

I am going to make a few assumptions that this NMC is used?!?

Unplug the Ethernet cable to the NMC. Take a paper clip and insert it into the reset button and hold it until you see the right side LED turn orange than release.

This will format the NMC and return it to a default state and enable DHCP. It will reset the user name & password to all lower case: apc

Insert the Ethernet cable to allow it to obtain a new IP Leased Address. Find that same address via your router, firewall, switch.

Go to that web address using Chrome with the user name / password: apc

Did the factory reset 3 times and got the same results via http, https, and SSH.  I can see via the menu that the IP is now set to DHCP vs static addressing.  I then retrieved the IP address (which I had already setup a reservation for) from the DNS server on my router.  Not sure what you mean by limited information provided?  I gave the UPS model number plus that it's using a NMC2 interface.  I'll provide a few more details below but please be more specific if additional info would be useful?

NMC2 model: AP9631

NMC2 Firmware Rev: sumx v6.8.0

UPS Firmware Rev: UPS 06.0  ID: 1010

DSP Firmware:  MCU 05.0  MBL 02.1

Comm Firmware: COM 06.0  CBL 02.1

The NMC needs to be updated to the latest v7.1.8 firmware. The certificate and encryption is out of date and expired.

If you completed the factory reset as outlined by me the system will be in a default state and both user name & password will be: apc

As such use this link to download the Smart-UPS NMC firmware:

https://www.apc.com/us/en/product/AP9631/ups-network-management-card-2-with-environmental-monitoring...

Follow the wizard and prompts to upgrade the NMC. Choose FTP instead of SCP and enter user name / password of: apc

Do not select backup logs . . .

NOTE: Remove the DHCP reservation from the router. Hard boot the NMC by simply removing the card from the UPS. Wait ten seconds before inserting it back in.

Connect the Ethernet cable and verify the NMC shows up in the DHCP IP Leased table with a new address. Initiate the NMC firmware update following the wizard.

Let me know . . .

Followed your instructions, downloaded the Smart UPS firmware v7.1.8 and attempted to flash using FTP.  It failed several times, so I downloaded the file a 2nd time in case there was corruption but I got the same result.  Then I pulled the card, reinserted it to force the reboot, and attempted the firmware flash again with the same result.

This is getting really frustrating, I've worked in networking and have flashed firmware on many 100s of devices, so I'm not new to this type of work.  I'm trying to get this setup properly for a customer but I can't bill for all the time I'm syncing into this and it's starting to make me look bad with the customer.

I have located a USB to RJ45 serial adapter in case a local serial connection is the next step.

FYI, I did just try to connect to it again using Firefox.  I'm getting an "Unable to Connect" message but it is redirecting http to https, so it is providing a basic response but not granting access to the web GUI.  But it wasn't an expired cert message.
