Hi all.
I have this smart sua1500 ups, second hand I got as it's too expensive where I am to get new.
Just got this unit a week ago that replaced a same model faulty unit.
This is what happened:
-The light went out. Ups battery kicked in fine.
-light came, the normal green power led came on. Charge led's came on.
-however the yellow battery indicator was flashing red color and giving a half beep every 2 seconds. This lasted about 10 seconds then went away.
I did the self test, was fine. Shut the power to check and this did not reappear. There was minimal load, only a DVR and a camera at the time.
Don't have any cable to check the logs, they never come with these second hand units.thanks

I may have been mistaken. Can the yellow battery light be red?
When it happened I was half asleep, tried to get a picture, so maybe mistook which light went on.
After this the battery disconnect light flashed on 2 occasions for about 5 seconds. This is what I probably saw the first time. Will recheck all the terminals etc, as batteries are fine.

Hi Haroon,
Could you kindly verify which of the LED lights on the attached pic you are referring to?

Thanks for the reply.
I managed to make a video, this was the 3rd time it happened today after a brief power failure. It happened just after the power came back on.
So it was the light I have highlighted below.
UPS is connected with 2 external batteries. I called the person from whom I got this ups. He said that check all the terminals again. I installed new battery terminals last week. I suspect 1 wasn't tight enough, it had some color change. Re-did all the connections etc. So far so good, tested a few times turning the power off and did not see any red flash.
Now in my original post, I believe I mistook what I was seeing as I was half asleep. I thought I saw the below, the orange highlighted led flashing red color and beeping (like in the video). The blue highlighted led was on, live power was on. And the green highlighted area was showing all 5 leds (batteries are fully charged). I dont think the orange highlighted led can be red, its orange by default?

Hi Haroon,
On the video and first picture you've shown, the Red LED light is a replace battery indicator. This LED acts 2 ways.
1. Solid Red - this indicates that the batteries are going bad. Time to replace the batteries.
2. Flashing Red - this indicates that either there is no battery connected or the unit is not detecting the batteries even it is connected.
The orange/amber light, is the "On Battery" indicator. This lights up when the UPS is running on battery mode.
You can refer to the user manual for the symbols/indicators on page 4-5.

When you got this unit, were the batteries replaced? or when was it last replaced?
From what I can see the unit is sometimes not detecting the batteries, hence the red led flashing. This could potentially be a battery issue.

I got this unit a week ago. It replaced a similar unit that went faulty, that unit was all lights flashing and the person I got it from said its a fault with the ups.
I am using the same external batteries for this replacement, the batteries are 10m old. I will keep an eye on it, I think my connection point was loose. So far no issues now since I redid the connections. Thanks for the pdf file.
I was also thinking of getting its serial cable so I could use it with the software. Is there any advantage of me using powerchute, for maintenance purposes? thanks

Good to hear that its working fine. Could also be a loose connection like you said.
There are a lot of benefits you can get using PowerChute Business Edition like UPS configuration, logging, safe system shutdown, email notification just to name a few.
