Hello Everyone,
I recently replaced my Smart-UPS RT 3000 XL w/ two external batteries and an APC9619 Management card because it was at the end of its lease. Instead of purchasing two external batteries we decided to purchase one external battery.
When I log onto the AP9619 in the replaced UPS system it reports a load of 40% and a battery uptime of 43minutes. The battery uptime value is incorrect and I believe it should be reporting around 2 hours. We ran some tests (such as calibration and battery test) and the value does not change. We confirmed the external battery was connected properly and the management card reflects 1 external battery connected.
When we cut power to the UPS and log onto the management window we notice the battery uptime value changes to nearly 2 hours. Could you please advise how to fix the battery uptime value so it reflects the proper value on my reports?
Thank you,
D

Hello, I have the same situation, the difference is that we already configure the ups to two banks, the internal + 1 external = 2, the model of the ups is: Smart-UPS RT 3000 RM XL, when we perform the runtime calibration, the The battery lasts 3 hours and a few minutes, but then when the batteries are 100% charged the Runtime Remaining is only 50-60 minutes. We have already turned it off, disconnected all the charges and turned it on again and the Runtime Remaining continues in 50-60 minutes.

hi derek,
can you confirm the model on this UPS via the sticker on the unit?
Is it an SURT3000XLT, SURTA3000XL, or a SURTD3000XLT?
If it is one of the first two mentioned, we can reset the battery constants via Hyperterminal or some terminal program - which I can walk you through doing that via email or private message. if its an SURTD3000XLT, we will need to proceed in a different direction. The SURTD3000XLTs are fairly new - only around about a little over a year I think.
Let me know and we'll go from there.

Hi Angela,
As always- thank you for your prompt assistance 🙂
The devices are 2 weeks old. Unfortunately I am unable to find the exact model# on the device via the web interface or the hyperterminal connection, however, I have the serial number if that helps?
I've sent you some information via private message.
Thanks,
D

Hey there, just something I noticed in your post, if your using an external pack, the count in the unit should reflect the following, per user manual:
Enter the number of battery packs, including the internal battery pack
(Number of packs: 1= internal battery module, 2 = 1 SURT192XLBP, 3 = 2
SURT192XLBP, etc.).
so in your case, your batt pack # should be set to 2.
This might also have something to do with your runtime reflecting improperly. Hope this helps 🙂

Hi Tim,
Thank you for your note. The AP9619 web interface reports 1 external battery (rather than 2). When I changed the value to 2 the system reports 3 1/2 hrs uptime.
Thank you,
D
