Back-UPS SU1400 self-test

This is probably a dumb question, but how do I initiate a (manual, not software) self-test on a Back-UPS SU1400?

The docs explain about the automatic self-test, and how turning the UPS on will start a self test, how to do a cold start, etc., but it never quite tells how to do a self-test after the unit it on.

(I've just replaced the battery, after an automatic self-test failed and the replace battery LED lit up. After installing the new battery, the charge LEDs show a 100% charge, but the replace battery lamp is still lit after 24 hours. When I press and release the "test" button, there's a short beep, and that's all.)

Any help much appreciated.
