I just had the batteries replaced in my Matrix UPS model MX5000EU and the unit says the battery pack is bad. It says the batteries are 100% charged and gives a runtime of 300+ minutes. Do I need to reset something after the batteries are replaced in a pack?

In order to reset that xr pack, there is a procedure involved. Find the communications card on the back of the battery pack.
1) Disconnect the communication cable to it and wait a minute for the red led on the front to go out.
2) Use a paperclip to press and hold the reset button on the card
3) While holding the reset button.. insert the comm cable.
4) The led will likely come back on flashing instead of staying off.
5) disconnect the comm cable again and wait a minute for the red led to go completely out.
6) once it's out, just connect the comm cable again w/o hitting the reset button.
It should stay out. I'd recommend trying this procedure a few times.
If this doesn't work, just unscrew and pull that card completely out. Disconnect the electrical connection to it and let it sit for a good 5 minutes. Then just hook it back up.
If niether of those work, you'll probably need a new comm card for the XR pack.
