I'm running a SBS2003 server that throws up an Allocated Memory Alert daily due to the pbeagent service consuming copious quantities of memory. Restarting the service fixes the problem for somewhere around 24 hours. So I figured I'd set up a scheduled job to restart the service once a day with a batch file and the Windows Scheduling service. The problem I've run into is that pbeagent isn't recognized by windows as a valid service. I've tried it with and without the .exe extension and with and without the full path. No dice. Anyone know what Windows might be looking for as far as the correct name for the service?
Thanks,
Sam

I've tried PBEAGENT.EXE, PBEAGENT (without the extension), and one or two long shot other things that I can't recall off the top of my head. In the services list, it's shown as PBEAGENT.exe. I'll try your suggestion.

I tried with and without. I've been using the net stop/start command, though. I'll try sc.exe.
