Greetings all. Question regarding a Smart-UPS SMT750I. The AVR kicks in even when the UPS is off. Thus far, the only way I found of preventing the AVR, is to turn the UPS off and unplug the wall connection. Is there a way to turn off the UPS so that it's truly off and doesn't do anything? Thanks

Hi George. As you noticed, turning "off" the UPS basically just turns off the output power. To fully turn off the UPS you would want to turn it off via the LCD and then unplug it from utility power. It will eventually shutdown the internal "brains" or you can do it yourself by disconnecting the battery. The UPS will hold on to its configuration settings.
Smart-UPS are designed for 24/7 use in computer room type environments, which is why the "brains" stay up and active in most operation modes...

You can adjust the low and high voltage transfer points for AVR, by way of the menus within the UPS's front panel display.
I would be curious to know how you ascertained that the AVR function is active. So long as it's plugged into a working electrical outlet, your UPS will never be completely off. At a very minimum, the battery charging circuit will remain active at all times so that the batteries can be maintained.

Thanks.
I know you can adjust them, but I want to maintain the settings which I need for a very sensitive electronic keyboard.
I can tell the AVR is on because it's louder when the AVR is on. It's otherwise silent.
