APC back-ups pro 700 screen not working

The LCD screen illuminates, but nothing is on the screen. Does anyone have an idea what's going on. Also in perhaps an unrelated event, my modem seems to loose connectivity with the internet since I started using the unit last week.

Without knowing your specific model it’s possible the system has been set to power saving mode.

One manages the outlets and the other the LCD display as outlined in this manual:
