Email notification not working, but test email passed

Hi, 

I am having issues with email notifications for NMC2 v6.6.4. When the UPS is on battery power I do not receive email notification even though it was working fine before, but it stopped working suddenly. I have done an email test and it was successful; I received a test notification. Any idea why I am having this issue?

First step is to update the NMC 2 to the latest firmware v7.1.2 / v7.1.6

Second step if you’re using a public email server such as gmail is to insure you have the (Less Secure) password entered into the NMC 2 SMTP.

If this is a corporate SMTP you’ll want to review the error logs for the email failures. Let me know the above information and the results good / bad. 👍

Thank you for the suggested solution. However, I am not able to update the NMC. I am getting the below error.

Please call out the specific model UPS, NMC. Also are you sure you downloaded the correct firmware for a Smart-UPS?!?

There are others such as Symmetra (SY) which you do not want to use. Lastly, ensure both SCP / FTP are enabled in the NMC.

Please try again with FTP and report back success / failure while insuring the Smart-UPS NMC firmware was downloaded. ☝️

Thank you I changed to FTP and worked fine. I am going to monitor the email notification and see if the upgrade fixes the issue.
