SAI EASY 3S RS-485 connection problem and solution.

Dear all 

we are facing multiple issues with this UPS in modbus networks. Our clients install this UPS and we do a internet-remote PLC integration through rs-485.

Our problem is the following

• UPS 3S and other RS-485 devices like Schneider SLASXCV2 ---> UPS does not communicate ;SLASXCV2 does communicate.
• UPS 3S alone ---> communicates
• SLASXCV2 alone communicates.

How we solve?

• Sometimes with firmware update
• Sometimes with an RS-485 isolator
• Change the bus (the plc has other buses)

It happened 20 times in last 2 years. 

We only offer remote plc programming support, so we are not able to perform advanced measures in field (osciloscope, multimeter, advanced conversor)

What can be the reason of this issue?

Good morning.

On the screen is an option to use RS485 or Tuner. Tuner is SE's software to set up the unit. If the unit is selected for tuner RS485 will not work.

if I remember the option is under the key icon.

Today other issue like this.

Schenider support send us Tuner program and a procedure in order to download logs from UPS.

We will enforce field technicians to download the logs

Nightmare continues. Now Tuner software sent by schneider did not work properly and shut downs  in the laptop of the technicians.
This UPS is still being problematic with other devices in the bus. so we always waste a whole bus of the PLC only for him. or an isolator.
