Hi, If an APC UPS - Smart or on-line UPS models ( SURT ) are used and if there is a power failure , the UPS will goes into battery mode. Will the UPS shuts down ( turn off ) and goes to sleep mode if there is a long power failure - Low battery status reached. No APC web management card is used. Just purely the UPS only. Does by factory settings /default,, Smart UPS / On-line UPSs reboot on its own if it shuts down and turn off at purely low battery state when power returns ?
Thanks and regards

Typically yes, the battery voltage does not drain down all the way on a discharge. When the power is restored the unit will check the battery bus voltage, if that voltage is ok, then the unit will boot up. Now the battery will be in a low charge state so if the power goes out again you runtime will be very minimal (which is why we have a delay setting if the ups has an NMC to wait and have the ups charge back up before returning to its online state). Hope this helps.

Hi kooldog, yes you are correct. If they is an extended power outage the ups will continue to run on battery until it is exhausted and then shut itself off. Normally if there was shutdown software installed (PCNS) then a shutdown signal would be sent to those PCNS clients at the low battery duration time. Once the ups is off and power is restored the ups should turn itself back on (if there is an NMC present then you could delay this immediate turn on, otherwise it will occur when power is restored). Hope this helps.

Hi, R2 Thanks for your feedback. But if the UPS shuts down due to low battery state, does the UPS is in "OFF" mode or "Sleeping model". In SURT UPS models, if the batteries are drained after that prolong power outage, can that UPS be started up again when power returns as the batteries are drained. ?
Thanks
Kooldog
