Hello,
We are experiencing an issue with the APC Smart-UPS SRT Li-Ion 2200VA, which continuously displays the message "Battery not connected." The message sometimes disappears but then reappears. As a result, we are also unable to perform a self-test.
Steps we have already taken:
Replaced the communication cable
Updated the firmware to version 3.2.0.7
We now have two UPS units with the same issue.
Could you please advise on how to resolve this?
Best regards,

If this unit is covered by APC Warranty please contact APC Technical Support to track this issue.
They will more than likely walk you through the UPS Firmware Update process to be on the latest.
As this may addresses the fault you see here.
In the interim verify the rear extended terminator is in place if no extended battery packs are in place. If there are extended battery packs that terminator must be inserted into the last pack.
If your system incorporates a dial to inform the system as to how many extended battery packs are present. Insure the dial is placed in the correct numerical value.
Obviously verify all communication cables and charging cables are firmly inserted into the system. The system should beep and also indicate the number of packs installed and the relevant metrics for each.
Let me know how it all turns out with APC Support.

From my experience this if it is coming and going it usually is a bad battery. either it is producing enough voltage but it can not sustain a load put on it. Or the voltage from one or more of the batteries is varying and it is dipping down enough for the UPS to think it does not have a batter in it.
I have seen this on a number of units and usually it just needs new batteries. If that does not fix the issue then you need to replace the unit
