APC NMC 9617 compatibility question

We've been running on older APC Smart-UPS devices for years and had one recently fail.  I ordered and received a new APC Smart-UPS SMT2200, and noticed that the SmartSlot has changed slightly and now has tabs that pass throught the NMC faceplate.  Are the APC 9617 cards we have incompatible with the newer SmartUPS systems?

Yes, newer UPS models such as the SMT2200 are incompatible with the AP9617 card. The AP9630 is the direct replacement. While the AP9630 will also work on older UPSes, offers additional features, and are much faster processing HTTPS and SSH connections, I would stick with using the existing AP9617 cards on them for now.
