PCNS 4.0 Virtual Appliance Placement in vCenter
I've installed two PCNS 4.0 appliances in my vCenter infrastructure (two different models of UPSs at two locations). I've been able to get both to plug-in to the vSphere Web Client and 'play' fairly nice. Both appliances recognized the separate clusters they were in and which hosts contained the appliances and the vCenter appliance. Question is, should the appliances be set outside of a vApp in each cluster so the vApp shutdown process doesn't interfere with the vms/vApps/Hosts shutdown process? We are using DRS in both sites/clusters.
