APC AP9617 Not Logging events to Management Card

I have 4 APC-AP9617's and only one of the units is logging temporary loss of power to the Management Card. We seem to have a brown out every morning and all 4 unites log the event on the units console; however, if you log into the remote management through http, you do not see this event on 3 of the units.

Any ideas on why this might happen. All 4 are running the same firmware, configured identical from a HTTP perspective.

The outage is normally only 2 - 5 seconds.

this thread is a few years old. lets make sure you are up to date on your firmware - AOS 3.7.3 and sy3p 3.7.2 if this is a symmetra 3 phase unit as well. also, what are your IM revisions?

Stephen,

Do these cards have the same configuration when it comes to notification/logging? You can try to download the config.ini of the working card and upload it on the 3 other cards

3 of the unitx are Symmetra 40K THORC456, These are not alerting on the 4 - 5 sec outages.

The other is a Symmetra 80K THORC456, alarms are working correctly.

I'm not sure how to download the config.ini, I'll look that up and see.

Thanks for the help.

i believe that the intelligence module firmware can be found in the Diags Menu on the powerview under Intelligence modules or in the management card interface under Detailed Status->Intelligence System->Firmware Revision

i would download the config.ini of the cards via the instructions i had posted and we can compare this. this information you posted is good to know but doesn't necessarily matter in relation to this problem.

how did you view the configs side by side? on what screen of the management card.

[here is how to download the config.ini|http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8789]

i vaguely remember hearing something about depending on the intelligence module firmware on the symmetra PX, short outages (on battery events) arent recorded.

i am not a three phase symmetra expert though..if you contact APC three phase support though they may be able to shed light on the issue. if you cant let me know, i will try to have them take a look at the thread.

I did a side by side comparision. I've validate that the Unit itself does record the problem; however, the management card does not.

This is the information on the working unit.

Hardware Factory

Model Number: AP9617
Serial Number:
Hardware Revision: A10
Manufacture Date: 01/23/2003
MAC Address:
Management Uptime: 20 Days 18 Hours 34 Minutes

Application Module

Name: sy3p
Version: v3.5.7
Date: 08/13/2008
Time: 22:13:41
APC OS (AOS)

Name: aos
Version: v3.6.1
Date: 08/13/2008
Time: 18:49:49

This is the information on the non working unit.

APC OS (AOS)

How can I confirm the version of the management modules?

ok. all of that looks good. 20.00 is the latest revision for the power modules - which you are at. i will wait for the config.ini and we will compare those just incase. i imagine they will be identical and something else may be happening.
