APC AP9211 Password Reset

Hello,

I've recently purchased a used APC AP9211 unit with an AP9606 Web/SNMP Management Card installed and am unable to get the password reset procedure documented at http://www.schneider-electric.us/en/faqs/FA156075/ to work. I am working on multiples of these and just got another identical unit to work just fine five minutes prior so I'm not sure what the problem could be unless it's a difference in firmware versions. The serial number of the unit is WA0014004210. Can someone provide me with a password to access the unit so that I can reset the unit to defaults?

Hi,

I just changed the password from my admin account and now I can't login anymore. Not with the old and not with the new PW.

Need to reset, AP9606  JA0236007302

Thanks

Andre

Hi,

  1. Use lower case apc for user name in either hyper-terminal or telnet (won't work via the web)
  2. Use the following for password 12:758QI9<>B (any letters are capitalized)
  3. You will then have to log in again but use lower case apc for both user name and password

Hi Bill,

just made Telnet to the system and did the following:

telnet 192.168.1.112
User Name : apc
Password  : 12:758QI9<>B
User Name : apc
Password  : apc
User Name : apc
Password  : apc
Connection lost.

Was the way right ? It even doesn't work with the webinterface after first telnet.

Hi

Use lower case apc for user name in either hyper-terminal or telnet (won't work via the web)

Use the following for password 12479<^I9;<> (any letters are capitalized)

You will then have to log in again but use lower case apc for both user name and password

Please be advised that this unit is passed end of life and no longer supported by Schneider Electric.

Hi

The units do not have a recovery password as such, but there is a FAQ document detailing the password recovery process

-> https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156075/

I believe the AP79xx units are equipped with an NMC1, so I would advise looking to that part of the document.

Best regards

Tonny

Hello Bill,

I have an AP9211. The serial on the bottom reports WA0026018995

The serial number on the AP9606 smart slot card that is labeled AP9211 is: WA0026013833. This is also the serial reported by signing in via RS-232 with username `apc` and password `apc -s`

Could you provide the recovery password for this unit?
