AP9631 vs successor AP9641

Hello all, maybe there is a second for that issue. It's about the successor to AP9631. AP9631 has been discontinued. Question: Is the successor AP9641 1:1 compatible with AP9631?. Many thanks for an answer in advance. Grettings

Short Answer: A direct replacement 

Long Answer: The latest AP9640 / 9641 incorporate a more powerful computer processor to allow higher strength encryption. 

Some improvements over the legacy AP9630 / 9631 NMC:

Micro USB Serial, replaceable coin cell, 1GB Ethernet, 30,000 vs 1500 logs, Customer Experience Tab?!?

The AP9640 / 9641 can accept all firmware branch of 7.XX from AP9630 / 9631 legacy. 2.XX for the AP9640 / 9641 and 3.XX SNS firmware that requires a paid subscription.
