Hi Folks,
Swapping NMC2s to troubleshoot a problem, I came across an AP9630 that I have with the following information silk screened onto the board:
640-1110B-Z REV06 with an APC 2009 "copyright" date.
Logging into the web interface and clicking on the About/Network tabs produces:
Model AP9630, s/n ZA1316007362, Hardware Revision 05, Mfr. Date 4/17/2013.
My questions are 1) which hardware revision level do I actually have and 2) should the two hardware revision levels be the same or not?
The firmware on the card is the current 6.40 version.
Thanks for the help!

Hi Joe,
There are very few reasons the user should need to worry or refer to these versions. Internally, we use hw05 to refer to NMC2 devices and hw02 to refer to NMC1 devices. There are some variants of those too you may see for devices with embedded versions of these cards (hw07, hw03). You'll see these referenced in firmware firmware bin file names.
One is the PCB revision (printed on the PCB) and one is the hardware platform version (what you see in the web). As I mentioned, you should never really need to worry about anything beyond the firmware version and hardware SKU unless otherwise specified or noted (like in the other thread with the PCB revision was actually needed by us to confirm an isolated issue due to a PCB enhancement made for a very specific communication issue with specific UPS models).

Angela,
The explanation helps a lot. My work life experience having come from a custom hardware acquisition background has, unfortunately, fine-tuned me to notice things like this.
I am now worry-free and thanks for everything.
