AP9617/network shutdown utility, how can I stage computer shutdowns?
Hey all, so one thing I'm having trouble finding, perhaps I need to install the actual powerchute software, I basically have two servers running, one critial, one not so much, and to extend runtime, I would like to be able to tell one of them to shut down as soon as power is lost, and let the other one shut down when the runtime is 3 minutes or less, as they both are configured right now.
I can't find any way of doing this through the management card or the network shutdown utility on the server itself, so I'm wondering what the easiest way to accomplish this is.

Hi Jesse,
Yes, you'll need PowerChute Network Shutdown software on the servers in conjunction with the Network Management Card to make this happen and customize it the way you want. But, you seem to have something configured right now but I am not sure what it is if not PowerChute.
Once you have PowerChute Network Shutdown installed, you'll be able to configure what each server does after X amount of time has gone by. The settings in the management card itself for shutdown I think of as "global" settings or the default when you don't configure anything special in PowerChute. PowerChute Network Shutdown has a great help file and some documentation with it (better than I can explain) so I'd start there and download the software and review the associated manuals which I believe are links when you go to download the software @ http://www.apc.com/us/en/tools/download/ .
