So, I got a 'new' UPS the other day.
Considering the old UPS was a SmartUPS-1250, its 'new' to me. Namely, there's a smartslot in it. So, having put the datacenter Symmetra and Silcons online, I wanted to put my UPS on. I'm pretty sure I used AP9617s or AP9618s depending on location.
Anyways...I found an extra AP9617, but can't seem to get it to upgrade.
Its doing this:

what do you mean specifically by it does not work? your firmware looks good so if the AP9617 is not communicating with the UPS, I would make sure we "braindead" the UPS to reset/reboot it. To do this, you need to turn off and remove all load from the UPS and turn off the UPS as well. then unplug it from the wall/remove AC power and hold down the off (o) button on the UPS and see if you hear an audible click and/or see the LEDs flash on the UPS. if this does not happen, leave the UPS alone for about 10 minutes and this condition will occur on its own. make sure to disconnect any serial cables during this procedure too.
turn it back on and see if the network management card (without serial able connected) is communicating with the UPS.
if you mean something else isnt working, let me know.

The A- and A! status flags are an indication that the card is not communicating with the UPS.
A- = Bad checksum
A! = Wrong APP for AOS

So after lots of trial and error....I eventually got the AOS updated.
Had to do it over serial at 2400 bps. Wouldn't work FTP to the card, FTP from the card or using TFTP...or serial at faster speeds.
And, then also had to do sumx using serial at 2400 bps.
But, still doesn't work.
