Good day, I seem to have a problem with my APC9617 NMC cards if I change the default username password (apc/apc) to my desired username and password via the web interface. I had a tricky time getting them reset, and when I did and managed to login to them, I change the username/password to the same details I use on my other NMC's (Other NMC's are AP9619 models however). However once I've entered the new details and click Apply - boom it asks me to login and won't accept the credentials.
Two different AP9617 cards have done this now and I cannot for the life of me get them to reset again once they've grabbed an IP address and begun to communicate on the network. I perform the same password reset procedure I did before (Pushing a pin in to the pin hole reset on the back of the NMC for 45+ seconds) however the cards do not reset and simply end up booting back up and communicating on the IP address I manually configured within the web interface. As you guessed, this means the username/password has not been reset either and cannot log back in.
I copy/paste (and make 100% sure the details are correct, no spaces etc being copied across) the username/password into the NMC config so I'm confident it was not a typo that causes this. Like I mention above, this is the second AP9617 card which has done this, so I'm wondering if there are characters with in the password that the NMC just does not see or read?
The password contains Upper case letters, lower case letters, symbols and numbers. Is there a character limit for password ???
Just to state - these details work fine on my AP9619 cards - copy/paste method as I describe above.
Any help much appreciated!

For AP9617/18/19 (NMC1 products), pinhole reset button is only used by design to reboot the card, as you said, as well as during the password reset procedure documented in our FAQ.
Only the NMC2 products (AP9630/31/35 or those embedded with these) allow you to press and hold the pinhole reset button for 20+ seconds to "format" the NMC or wipe it completely back to factory settings (excluding firmware - it won't upgrade or downgrade the firmware). The button also allows you to reboot (press and release once) as well as complete the password reset procedure as well, similar to the older cards mentioned above.

Wow ok so I found there's a 10 character password limit... just in case anyone else see's this.
I do have one follow up question on this - How does one reset the NMC card from this point on? It seems as though once the NMC is communicating on the network, it doesn't like the pinhole reset anymore? Performing this procedure only seems to reboot the card instead of reset it back to default.
Am I doing something wrong?

I think the reset button trick only works on the serial console port.
