Hullo,
I recently installed an AP9606 Web/SNMP Management Card into a Smart-UPS 3000 and configured it as necessary. The good news is that it works as it should and I have had no problems with it so far. ๐
However, we want to set it up for monitoring in what is known as PRTG. Before I can do that, I want to know if this card has any OID values documented somewhere I could use to help create custom sensors for the device. I found a couple of sites, but most values they indicated did not work or they weren't actually for the AP9606 card.. Does anybody know of such values for a AP9606 card?
Thanks for any insight you can provide. As you can probably tell, I am not an expert on this kind of stuff, which exactly why I came to these forums!
Brock

hi brock,
this would be all stuff that would be available from under the ups subtree in the APC MIB.
.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.apc.products.hardware.ups
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1
all the OIDs you mentioned are under that tree. i'd suggest opening it in the MIB browser then combing through to get all the OIDs you want since there may be extras but here is what I found

hi Brock,
this card is 10+ years old so we don't maintain a list of OIDs that it responds to and make sure they work anymore, etc
if you can tell me what types of things you are monitoring, maybe i can help.
what i would suggest is using a MIB browser and browse the APC PowerNet MIB, available on apc.com under Software & Firmware, Firmware Upgrades - MIB, and then see what OIDs your card responds to and the available subtrees. you can then read what each OID is for and what value to expect, if you find its supported by the card.
also, it probably wouldnt be a bad idea to make sure your firmware is up to date. see below for the link to the latest firmware. you will need the AOS file and the sumx file.
ftp://ftp.apc.com/apc/public/hardware/webcard/firmware/security/v326b/
once you verify your firmware, use [these instructions|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/768] to update the firmware via FTP.
hope that helps

Thanks for the reply and sorry it took awhile to get back to you.
As to the card and its OIDs, I figured that was the case, especially considering the age of the card, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to at least ask.
Here are some of the things we were "hoping" to monitor, but none of them are really all that critical. So no big deal if we can't.
Battery Actual Voltage
Battery Capacity
Battery Temperature
Input Frequency
Output Frequency
Output Load
Output Voltage
Run Time Remaining
I haven't had a chance to spend much time using the MIB browser yet, but if I need to, I'll look into it further.
And thanks for the info on updating the firmware. I have managed to successfully update it to the latest version.

Is there any way to mark this thread or my first post as a question?
