We purchased the above device on Ebay and it has done the job well for about 6 months (used to reboot Voip Gateways remotely).
Yesterday while logged on to the associated computer, my remote session ended abruptly (I use Pcanywhere and TeamViewer). TeamViewer
showed the computer as offline, which had never happened before. After extended chat with Time Warner cable and multiple re-boots of the
modem, it appeared that immediately after a modem reboot TeamViewer would allow a logon for a few minutes, then lose connection again.
We then disconnected the AP9211 , did a modem reboot and the connection held fine. We then plugged the AP9211 back in and things went well
for a couple hours - but then the TeamViewer session abruptly ended. At this point we disconnected the AP9211, did a reboot and things have
been solid for the past 12 hours. Sorry for the long story - so the question is, can the AP9211 cause this type of behavior? I am not sure if
this was a Time Warner issue that has been fixed, or the AP9211 is responsible?

Angela, thanks for the analysis, I will see how things go on the other modem. This may well have been simply a Time Warner problem, I will report back if I have any notable updates.

Is there any connectivity between the modem and the AP9211 beyond just the power connection for the modem? If so, I am not sure how this could be the fault of the AP9211 unless it is randomly rebooting the outlet too quickly and hanging the modem or something along those lines - and even that does not seem like a likely cause and I would think the event log of the network management interface would report that. Is the computer connected to the AP9211 too, or just the modem?
When you removed the AP9211, did you just plug the modem directly into the wall for power?
Is there any evidence the computer rebooted - or it just lost it's network access? Is the computer directly connected to this modem or is there another piece in there?

Angela, thank you for the quick response, and your response shows I left a bit out of my description. The modem itself is not plugged into the AP9211, only the 2 Voip Gateway devices are (nor is the computer plugged into the AP9211; the computer is connected directly to the modem in port 2). The AP9211 uses port 1 of the modem (an ARRIS DG860), and the mentions in my post about rebooting the modem were all done by me on purpose by logging into the modem, or by the TW technician who could log in as well. We now plan to connect the AP9211 to a different internet account and see if there is any effect there. So my (admittedly naive) question is: does/can the AP9211 send signals to a modem that could cause it to lose internet connectivity until the modem is rebooted again, or do these type of devices have no possible adverse effect on internet connectivity?

Hi jamesrav - I don't see how the AP9211 could cause this problem because based on what you're saying, the AP9211 is only passing power to the VOIP gateway devices. The only time I can see it interfering is if something were causing the outlet to turn off/on when it shouldn't (faulty relay, communication failure, etc) which causes the attached devices in the outlet to possibly hang or turn off.
