AP9211 Password Reset

I recently purchased a used AP9211 with SN JA0208007251 for my home CCNA study lab. What is the backdoor password for this device? Thanks, in advance.

Hello,

The MasterSwitch (AP9211, AP9212) has two serial numbers. One serial number is for the Management Card and one is for the MasterSwitch chassis. You must use the serial number of the Management Card to determine a backdoor password. You must remove the Management Card from the Chassis to view the serial number on the board, which requires a power off of the switch. When powering off the switch, you must power down your equipment as well.

Another way to find the serial number of any Management Card AOS v2.0.0 and later by connecting serially and typing.

User Name : apc
Password : apc -s

The serial number will be printed to the terminal window. as there is special program available to generate the backdoor password , entering the serial number will return the backdoor password. Once you have the serial number, you can generate the backdoor password. Once you generate the backdoor password, enter the username as apc and the backdoor password as the password. This will reset the unit to defaults and allow you to access the unit again using apc for both the username and password.

For firmware versions higher than 3.2.6, the manual reset procedure is required. The special program will not work

We recommends to involve the services team and send an SR or send it to SE service center to reset it for you meanwhile please contact your local CCC team for assistance on how they will manage to reset it for you

Regards,

Karim
