AP7920 firmware upgrade failure

I've got a few AP7920s that I was upgrading to the latest firmware prior to setting up SNMP management for them. Unfortunately, the oldest ones, which were running 1.16 didn't upgrade sucessfully. Aos 2.02 seems to have loaded but the devices still report as 1.16. Loading 2.02 manually via FTP works but does the same. So I have no compatible application software, and can't upgrade to the latest Aos.

Any ideas?

Just this one doesn't like it or did you not try any others? Seemed like you had more than one with this issue?

I have two on the 1.1.6 firmware; I haven't tried the rPDU 1.0.2 application on both yet.

I am thinking can you try now AOS 2.0.2, let it reboot, try AOS 3.7.4, reboot then rpdu 3.7.4?

Unfortunately, that appears to take me back where I started; AOS 2.0.2 loads but does not boot.

Hello.

Can you clarify, where are you seeing the devices still report was 1.1.6? The normal process for this would be to load AOS 2.0.2, then AOS 3.7.4 (assming 2.0.2 becomes loaded into RAM), then rpdu APP 3.7.4. This is an exception where you load two AOS's in a row and it is OK to do so.

Depending on what you say to the above, I am interested to understand that when you log in via FTP, what does the FTP log in prompt say for the active AOS? And once you log in via FTP and do an ls (letter L) command, what files are shown there?

In the login banner for Telnet and FTP

American Power ConversionNetwork Management Card AOS

And once you log in via FTP and do an ls (letter L) command, what files are shown there?

About system shows 202 and 116 in flash though:

When you loaded it manually, did you verify you did the FTP file transfer in binary mode? Please check for that.

What we will need to do is load the rpdu application that bundles with AOS 1.1.6 back into the NMC. So FTP that back on (attached to this post) and make sure that afterwards, you log in and it shows rpdu v1.0.2, and AOS 1.1.6 and everything is fine as when you started.

Then, we'll try AOS 2.0.2, see if that loads properly after disconnecting and letting the NMC reboot, then AOS 3.7.4, allow time for a reboot, then rpdu 3.7.4.

Let me know if you have any questions before you start.

It loads the rpdu software but it's not entirely happy with it:
