We have a trio of ACRD200 (direct expansion) units in InRow mode. Two fans on one of the units had bearings going out so we removed the fans and returned the unit to normal operation. We are waiting on replacements to ship.
Since then, the fans on all three units are running at maximum RPM, despite the cooling load not changing. Is this expected behavior? It has been a few days and I am beginning to worry about the extra wear on these fans.
On a related note, are there any known issues with these fans (part no. W0M-61005)? Our ACRD's have been in service less than 3 years and these two fans showed excessive wear on the fan shaft, which a machinist here attributed to poor choice of bearings. Thanks!

Hello.
This is normal operation for the InRow units. If a fan(s) stop working, the other fans will ramp up to replace the airflow lost from the fan(s). Once you put the replacement fans in they will slow down. It won't be instantaneous, but they will ramp up and slow down as required by the heating load and the configuration of the unit. There are no known issues with the fans. If the fans do not slow down after putting the replacements in, give us a call at 888-695-6500 option 2 3 times to get to the cooling team and we can take a look at the configuration of the unit.
Thank you
